Taupo (/ˈtaʊpoʊ/; Māori pronunciation: [ˈtoʊpɔː]; also spelled Taupō) is a town on the shore of Lake Taupo, which occupies the caldera of the Taupo Volcano in the centre of the North Island of New Zealand.
